What an appealing image. The expression on Jak's face is what attracts my eye time and again--for him, that's a pretty relaxed, contented face, but the line of his eyebrows hints a bit at how ready he is to defend his girl from whatever and whoever might loom. The pose reinforces that motif--Jak's gaze is following Kiera's, and he's got his cheek resting on her hair with his arms around her--demonstrating his affection. Jak's also shielding Kiera, though, in making a sort of roll cage of his arms and knees. She's a relatively compact little bundle, with her feet tucked together well within the line of Jak's body and her hands in her lap, just under Jak's. It shows something of their relationship--she trusts him despite the fact that he's more than a little dangerous, especially if you get him mad, and he cherishes her company and will try to shield her against the nastier things the world might throw at them.

I like the "blue line" nature of this sketch. Jak is more than a little rough around the edges in his character, and Kiera is no stranger to messy and possibly dangerous situations herself. They're a tough couple in a rough city--they aren't supposed to be perfectly clean and neat.

Only quibble I have is in the region of Jak's left shoulder. His arm looks just a tad disjointed as it comes over Kiera's shoulder. It might be I'm misreading a line here or there.

Delightful work. The emotion is honest, unforced, and quite sweet. Jak really has grown a few inches since the first game, hasn't he? Used to be he had a foot or so in height over Kiera--but the majority of that was his hair. What DID Daxter put in Jak's shampoo bottle?
