The Seven-headed Beast. Its true name is Buchi.

Also known as the Charybdis, the Red Beast is an enormous ocean and sea-based creature built like a long red-colored seal with the muscle, claws and features of a bear. Large fleshy manta-like wings linked from each clawed paw to tail and thick scales across its heads and hide. The monster’s main head has three horns; a long straight spike centered on its forehead and a thick twisting ram-horn at each temple. Each of its smaller six heads line across the back its thick neck, each bearing it’s own straight spike-horn. Its collar mark is visible around the creature’s neck and throat, linking across and around all seven heads. All six of the smaller heads can retract into the flesh of the creature’s thick neck for the sake of speed in water, leaving a macabre ‘necklace’ of sharp spikes around its larger head.
The Beast also boasts a distinctive large Y-shaped scar covering most of its chest. How or why the Beast has this scar has never been discovered.

The Red Beasts power revolves around the creation of different forms of whirlpools and vacuums. In the water it works as one can imagine, forming various levels of whirlpools to drag prey and enemies alike towards it, sometimes dragging entire fleets towards its maw. Practically nothing but other head and tailed beasts can stand to its tough hide, horns, claws and wicked teeth.

While deceptively swift and graceful in deep waters, the Red Beast is practically hobbled on land with its blubbery body too heavy to move. Not that it matters. Instead the Beast can form a swirling vacuum of air to drag foes towards it, to then blast them away to smithereens.

While having generally prickly relationships with its extended kin, the Red Beast was known for its occasional partnership with the Scylla, the Six-headed Beast, sharing territory and hunting together for prey they didn’t need.

Some hosts of other Beasts through the centuries have said their charges make mention of the Red Beast’s most secret weapon, something even the mighty creatures deign to speak much of. Only the five-headed Naga is recorded to have spoken most on the subject, only that one would be forgiven to think the Red Beast was a “truly heartless monster”.

The Red Beast holds notoriety for being the first of the Tailed and Headed Beasts ever caught. With the great Uzumaki Clan’s revolutionary breakthroughs in chakra-sealing the Beast was finally cornered and sealed in their finest shinobi with, save for a following two month long coma, little to no ill effect. With this massive success the move to seal and control the Tailed and Headed Beasts across the ninja world began.

The Seven-heads is also known to bring a list of notable tragedies behind it, for all the victories its strength has brought to the clans holding it. Its Jinchuuriki have been very few compared to all the other Beasts, renowned for both their great power and their grisly ends.

One host attacking notable ambassadors from the Whirlpool Village leading to their critical injury and execution… Another breaking into the infamous ‘Blood Prison’ leading to the deaths of various guards in a bloody mass riot… One host appeared to vanish completely, only to be found countries away stalking various ninjas and civilians sporting bright red hair (and narrowly avoiding a national incident in its wake).

All this incidences along with various suicides of others in-between, sometimes by deliberately falling into their own conjured whirlpools, including the first great Uzumaki shinobi to ever host it.

With varying tensions among all other regions wielding their own Beasts, general agreement is to keep the Seven-heads sealed in an old iron-cast pot under heavy guard during peacetimes, in hopes a more sound-of-mind host can eventually be found.

Oddly enough, precious few of past Jinchuuriki have openly complained of having any problems dealing with the Seven-heads.  Gaining chakra from the Red Beast has described as being the least problematic out of its kin, always following the same pattern; unresponsive silences, to cautious slips of chakra, to a steady stream of strength and power. Described by one host as darkly intoxicating, it can leave a human ecstatic at gaining such a demonic-looking creature’s trust.

The Red Beast itself has never been known to say anything particularly negative about any its previous hosts, just that they were all “very good listeners”.

Awwwww yisss… Twisted sea lion/manta ray/sea cow/devil/dragon monster. I love him. >:3

Small note, but if you’ve ever seen a seal trying to flop its way about on land, try to imagine this big bugger doing it. Devastating and yet hilarious at the same time.

Buchi is mostly based on this guy  here! Among other giant sea monsters.
